Investigation Reveals Inmates Worked on Unique Performance Cars, Used Bondo
As most of you may have heard, Texas-based Unique Performance – refurbisher of 1960s Shelby Mustangs – is under police investigation after numerous clients had complained about not receiving their $200,000 plus classic Shelbys. Police discovered the company was sitting on $7 million in deposits with very little output, an investigation ensued.
Back in November, police seized 61 cars from Unique Performance garage. Police quickly discovered the company had been washing titles and forging VIN numbers. Now, the plot thickens as police have learned that Unique Performance had a contract with the local prison system. It’s reported that at least 17 felons – including a convicted murderer – worked on the cars. Of course, none of the criminals were qualified to do so.
It has also been revealed that each of the Shelby cars confiscated contained over 13 gallons of Bondo, each. In addition to the Bondo, the inmates reportedly also used parts from Taiwan.
Tom Pappas, lawyer for Unique Performance President Douglas Hasty, issued the following statement:
Every customer that has received a car has ultimately been satisfied with the quality of the car they received. Farmers Branch Police are continuing their witch hunt. They continue to leak false accusations to the press knowing that we have not had an opportunity to have access to the cars to rebut their claims. There were no title issues or criminal problems with the titles and no one has been defrauded. We are eager to address these cases in a court of law, on the record, where people will have to be responsible for their conduct. And I’m referring specifically to the Farmers Branch Police Department.
With each new detail surfacing, Unique Performance execs will likely get their day in court, however it appears they may be leaving in cuffs.

On the cable TV chopper shows, they act like convicts, create titles for bikes from thin air and they use bondo on just about everything.
I'm not sure I see what the problem is here.
