BMX X6 ActiveHybrid Spied with Hideous Lump
Spy photographers for World Car Fans found this BMW X6 leaving a petrol station. Wait. What’s that? A massive power dome? Yes, this is actually a photo of the BMW X6 ActiveHybrid.
The engine is the two-mode hybrid system developed in a joint venture with General Motors and Daimler AG. The engine is expected to cut fuel consumption by 20 percent.
But, fear not. The power dome is said to only be for testing purposes and will not be featured on the final production model. Sources for World Car Fans have said the car will see a launch in mid-2009 for the 2010 model year.
