Frankfurt: Lamborghini Launches a Jet, the Ultra-Everything Reventón
While Lamborghinis have always been exclusive, extreme, and expensive, the new Reventón is all of those superlatives taken to the ultimate degree.
Ringing up at a breathtaking one-million Euro ($1.4 million) and packing a styling legacy from fighter jets, the Reventón sits as the clear new alpha-dog of the Lambo pack. Only twenty examples of the supercar will be produced, each one flaunting a hand-built, hand-selected 650-horsepower 6.5-liter V-12. That hearty mill lies in the center of a body composed largely of carbon fiber (only the roof and doors are steel) attached to a high-strength steel and carbon fiber space frame.
Using the excellent Murciélago LP640 as a base, the Reventón has taken that fighting DNA and “compressed and intensified

The styling is bang-on, but a million euro car should have something more special under the hood. At least strap on some turbo's or something.
Mena
I have to agree with Tony. Need something more exotic under the hood for that price.

Why the hell does it weigh 3600lbs!

80's stealth fighter design in action. Anyone remember the movie 'Firefox'?

My thoughts exactly, guys. The car looks pretty cool, except for the engine cover, and that is where my biggest complaint resides. Why the "standard" LP640 engine? I'd want something bigger and badder. Audi likes turbos- use 'em, guys. That cockpit, by the way, gave me weak knees for a second or two- I would have made fallen down had I not been sitting already. I lke the G meter, lol. Useless/fun things like that are great.
Tom
Right. This would make sense if only it had 1200 bhp from a Y-18 with 9 turbos.
James
I'm glad to see that Vector Motors is still making cars!

I have to say I'm sort of disappointed, and was expecting a lot more of this 1.4 mil Lambo, and had been expecting something totally radical. But this just looks like a Murcielago with a body kit, and apparently some fancy dashboard. Worth the extra money? Definitely not. I think the neighbors would be more impressed by a fleet of 3 or 4 supercars than one of these.

Ugh, 30 photos with a total of three different angles. 10 photos of the bloody lights. Sigh. Terrible.

Back last year when the Bugatti Veyron started showing up in the press, one of the English mags polled its staff to find out what they would all rather do with the one million Euros it would cost to purchase one. I think that exercise is doubly appropriate in relation to this creature. Until we get a side shot (ahem!) I'll have to reserve judgment on the styling situation, which seems to be the whole point of this thing's existence, but given the slabbish lizard/military vibe of what we do see I'm not optimistic. Besides, that is a WHOLE pile of pesos for what seems to be little more than a semi-coachbuilt Murcielago.
And personally, for about $1.3 million for the garage, I could have a lot more fun than this. Then again, I freely cop to not being in the target demographic, whatever it is. So it goes.

Here´s some more pictures: http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2008-lamborghini-reventon/392814/
I think there´s just to many angles and lines.. It looks like a pantomime of a jet fighter.. or like something from a movie. Just...fake..?
Chris
Perhaps heresy to say: I haven't seen it in person, but in photos it looks like a Korean copy of a Murcielago. The Ssangyong Reventon. The equivalent of a body kit on a Chevy Blazer.

clearly expensive the car is not impressive, but rather shocking. Its styling makes it look as if it were radar invisible, which I would expect if I spent a million euros on that thing. It isnt that much faster than the standard lp 640. im sure you many of you will say that the .4 drop time in the 0-60 is great, but common the Veyron would still fly off faster than this plane..hmm car. As much i like Lamborghini for there styling, Id rather buy the new F430 Scuderia which gets about the same times (maybe not the top speed, and a standard lp 640(and would still have money left over.) And sure looking at the 3D G-force indicator must be fun while driving
Steve
Take a Murceliago, make it uglier, more expensive, and no faster... ??
I'll take a McLaren F1... or a Veyron... Or an Enzo... Or ... A Carrera GT for the weekends, an M5 for the commute, a boat in the lake, AND a whole pile of change left over...
Ducati Minor
Sleek-looking car, but WAY overpriced. For $1.4 million, I'd better see it murder and feast on a Veyron.
lambo425
I agree with all of you, it is overpriced and needs much better hardware. But, you have realize that the Lambo is for people who like be seen driving one and apparently this privilege is worth $1.4 million to alot of people since it was sold out within minutes of its presentation.

Ok, after reading your comments I AGREE 100% if never had driven one of those.
The price of the car is away far from normal but, designing a car for only 20 customers, the ones that keep saying are the true Lamborghini funs, the ones that use to say the Lambo would never have expensive cars like Ferrari, now they have to eat the balls of the bull if they don't buy the car. They asked for it, here it is.
My next comment is, did you ever drive one LP640? Ok, I drove several in a race track with more horse power than 660, factory said 675 (and let's agree they were right). Did you know the lowest torque at 3500 rpm of the Lambo is higher than any other street car at his maximum??????
This engine is a BEAST????????? If the LP640 can be driven with one hand at 185 mph (NO SHAKING, NO VIBRATION!!!!) imagine the REVENTÓN with this aeronatic design!?!?!
People investing in art will buy the car.

[...] Goaded by his pals into running over a parked Lamborghini Murcielago outside of a pub in Norfolk, England, Frankie Hulme’s friends must have been one or two pints shy of good judgment. The stunt was recorded by a compatriot’s Bluetooth-enabled phone, and then shown a few days later while watching a soccer game at the local pub. As it turns out the owner of the now dented Lambo was in the same pub and picked up the damning video on his own Bluetooth phone. Arrests ensued. [...]

You guys (your comments) make me laugh out loud.
You talk as if you might have one of these!!
The engine is not exotic enough? Why does it weigh 3600 lbs? No supercharger? ‘clearly expensive the car is not impressive, but rather shocking’, ‘Take a Murceliago, make it uglier, more expensive, and no faster… ??’, ‘Sleek-looking car, but WAY overpriced’
I am LMAO
Do you think they are building this car for you?
This car is for Jay Leno and company, not you or me!
I want one (of course) but who am I to criticize the unattainable. I would be very interested in hearing Mr. Leno's comments, though! Your comments would be a waste of time except for the fact that they make me laugh.
My only hope is that I could see one someday, or dare I say, 'sit in the drivers seat!'
