More strange and lovely than we might have surmised from the initial release of press information and photos, Renault’s Ondelios Concept is just the sort of vehicle that Francophiles dream of. The concept’s flawless and curving grille nicely picked up the swooping lines found on every Ondelios exterior surface, and the glowing white Renault diamonds were fine details as well. Lookout, Volkswagen Scirocco!  A widespread rumor that Renault is preparing to exhume its famed Alpine performance nameplate has European enthusiasts giddy with expectation. Judging by these Carpix photos of a nearly-undisguised mystery Renault lapping the Nürburgring, it appears that the excitement is well-founded.

Renault has launched a charming addition to its bare-bones Romanian Dacia lineup, the car/truck hybrid Logan pickup.

The fully utilitarian Logan offers capacity for a 1760-pound payload, with a handy 10.6 cubic-feet of storage in the cabin, at a price-point just over $10,000. With two frugal powerplants on offer, a 1.5-liter diesel, and a 1.6-liter gas engine, the Logan pickup will offer high mpg with low C02 output.

Remember the Megane Scenic RX4? Renault apparently hopes you don't, as the headings on their releases for the new 2009 Koleos proclaim it as Renault's "first 4x4 crossover." Granted, the Scenic 4x4 was an odd cross of sedan, minivan and SUV, but we'd certainly call it a crossover - and we're pretty sure having all four wheels driven constitutes some form of all-wheel-drive or a 4x4 system...
