Parent company BMW is progressing quite nicely with plans for the newest, and smallest, member of the Rolls-Royce line, known for now as the RR4.
This new package of spy shots shows the Rolls in what would appear to be near-production trim, disguised only by some slim body wrapping, and cowls over the head taillights. The RR4 seems to be getting a version of the rear-opening suicide doors from the Phantom, a feature that had only been hinted at until now.
Riding on the same platform as the long wheel base BMW 7-Series, the RR4 would appear to be sized – and likely priced – to compete head on with the popular Bentley Continental. Rolls-Royce is hoping for Bentley like sales numbers as well, with goals of selling around 1000 per year after the car launches in 2010.
