The full version of Gran Turismo 5 for Playstation3 (re: not GT5 Prologue) is getting nearer everyday to its alleged 2009 Q4 release date , so it’s no surprise that the slow burn of promotion would start to heat up.

Sony has released a new set of screen shots to that effect, some static treats to follow up on the exciting game trailer it showed at this year’s E3 event. The in-game images profile a Nissan GT-R in full Japanese Super GT racing specification, hanging out in what would appear to be one of GT5’s main menu screens. Good stuff.

Consider our appetite further whet, Sony, though we won’t be completely satisfied until the above version of Godzilla is resting comfortably in our own GT5 garage. We’ll expect our demo copy any day now, thank you.

Though our favorite car chase scenes tend to run toward the Hollywood variety, this JDM spec clip proves that the genre is heralded across the globe. Those whose hearts beat faster at the sight of classic Japanese metal (author raises hand) should especially love this long-play chase between a Toyota TE71 Corolla Levin and an S30 Fairlady Z (movie is unknown, sadly, but feel free to wise us up in comments). Just some good old fashioned cops and robbers here boy, strap in.

What people seem to have forgotten is that competition is what capitalism is all about. Evrey failure shifted purchases to the survivors, rewarding them for producing what the market wanted. That's how you get better products.

Though it may pain us to admit it, we’ve definitely been on the receiving end of an unwanted tow before, finding few experiences in life more frustrating than trying to negotiate with a driver after you’ve already been hooked up. The woman in this short video turned that frustration into action, with results that are quite satisfying…at least in the short-term. Enjoy.

Though it may fall mostly into the category of “things that are totally unnecessary,” this remotely controlled scooter project didn’t’ take long to warm our hearts. Created through the utterly artful use of digital footage from Forza 2, this amazing virtual drifting movie is not only a testament to how fantastically advanced the current generation of video games/systems has become, but also to how dedicated and skillful their players are. The Blackjack drifters work in a sort of perfect unison to pull this video off, showing a level of Forza mastery that seems almost impossible to attain, for a project that few would ever have dreamed of.
