Driver Forgets His Height, Crashes Trailer Into Bank

The statement from the Dallas Police Department on the above incident reveals that the driver and his 10-year-old son escaped unharmed:

At approximately 3 PM, Tuesday, July 2, a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500, pulling a new travel trailer, hit the corner of the Texas State Bank Drive-In on Tenaha Street, causing the complete awning to come to the ground. Luckily, the driver of the Dodge, Mickey Miller, of Garrison and his 10 year old son were able to exit their vehicle uninjured. Mark Ivy of Texas State Bank stated that the main lobby would be open for business while the drive-in is being repaired.

Guess the truck lived up to its name

A strong wind would have brought that canopy down. The posts aren't properly attached to the roof! Not a smart play by the driver, but he may have saved someone else's life!

I'm still amazed that nobody was hurt. It looks like the truck was all but destroyed.

Stupid drivers infuriate me. As usual these type of drivers just don't care about other people. What the hell is he doing driving that gigantic rig through the drive through teller anyway?!!!! Luckily other drivers weren't at the other positions or else they would of been crushed by this idiot driver!

Your comments show your ignorance.

1. It was a brand new travel trailer. Perhaps he had no experience pulling trailers and had just bought it. Not an excuse...but could be the reason it happened.

2. He doesn't are about other people? How the hell did you get that? It was an ACCIDENT. It's not like he did it on purpose.

3. Other photos of this incident (easily available on the web) show he was not actually trying to drive into the teller area. He clipped the left corner of his trailer onto the edge of the roof. It appears he was trying to go around, but didn't leave enough room on his left.

4. The inside of the bank was unaffected, it was just the roof over the drive-through teller areas.
