Founding father of the North American Racing Team, Luigi Chinetti is said to be responsible for engineering this crossbred beast, which drew power from a mid-mounted, Eldorado-sourced 7.7-liter (472 cubic-inch) V-8, and was wrapped with a very continental body from the Italian Zagato. Caddy was also responsible for the basic chassis (also from an Eldo), as well as for the dashboard, steering column, brakes, and those unmistakable hubcaps.

Good pick, Seyth. The Caddy custom is, indeed, a special car. This is one of two forgotten GM Italo-American hybrids of the early 1970s--the other being my beloved Ferrari-powered Firebird Pegasus.
The Zagato custom here is a fascinating design study. The profile is, at first, an amalgam of Euro-American exterior features. When you analyze the profile, however, you see an exaggeration of Guigiaro's Ghibli. The roofline is stretched, emphasizing more cabin space with a Caddy audience over the tradition tourer. This is seen with the four-passenger Vignale-designed Maserati Indy and Lamborghini Espada by Bertone.
I'm certain at least one of the two influenced the Zagato design. The Maser was premiered in Torino in 1968 (I believe) and the Lambo debuted in Geneva in 1967. Regardless, this is the most interesting Cadillac I can think of between the late-fifties Brougham and the late-eighties Allante.

We took the same engine (a 1968 472cid) and replaced the pistons with after market blower pistons 6.5:1, O-ringed the block and added two turbos then dropped the whole thing in a 1960 Ford F-100 with a B&M stick hydro. I wonder what the above Caddy would run like with the same setup? Sweet!
