I have previously owned a euro-spec '86 M6, a '95 M3, an '01 M3 and a '99 AMG C43. My daily driver is a new GTI and my "Sunday driver" is a Ferrari F430. My AMG stills holds a very special place for me. Day in and day out, the torque was abundant and ever present. The high revving nature of the current M3, like my Ferrari make it more of a 1-trick pony to the AMG. If I could only own 1-car it would be the AMG C63. In fact, when I had my AMG as a daily driver, I sold my '96 Porsche Carrera C4S as it actually wasn't as much fun as the AMG. Now that Mercedes have transmissions that respond in real time, the cars don't have the pseudo turbo lag feel of the old AMG cars.Now if only the dealer service and reliability issues can be fixed.
