One and Only Shelby Mustang GT500KR with Glass Roof headed for Barrett-Jackson Auction Block
Want a Ford Shelby Mustang GT500KR, but like that new glass roof option available on the base 'Stangs? You're in luck - so long as you hurry down to Barrett-Jackson and drop enough cash. The first and only GT500KR to be built with the new glass top will roll across the auction stage this weekend.
In order to continue the roof stripes normally equipped on the car, Ford went ahead and etched the stripes onto the roof panel. It's a neat look, but if they could etch them onto the roof, couldn't they have etched them into the rear window pane? Granted, there could be an issue with visibility, but we think it'd help accentuate the continuity of the glass panels.
Currently, Ford has no plans to offer the glass roof on anything other than normal V-6 or GT Mustangs, but we'll bet owners of Shelby models may have other aftermarket tops installed on their cars. Still, for the time being, it's another exclusive niche vehicle, and we'll bet it will incite yet another bidding war in the Scottsdale desert.

I expect it to be bricked into a garage with delivery miles only to be removed in forty years where the owner expects to make the future equivalent of 7-figures with the same auctioneer.
