There’s Something In Your Teeth, Chrysler…

Chrysler 300 Grille

Yes, we know that modern bumper technologies usually rely upon some form of a plastic and foam sandwich to resist impact. And yes, we also know that designing a car with a large grille poses some challenges to crashworthiness. Still, we were a bit surprised at what we found sitting towards the bottom of the Chrysler 300's grille. Although it's not noticeable from a distance, a close look reveals nothing less than some coarse black foam - installed for safety's sake.

We know, it could look worse, but we still wonder if there could have been a better way to design the 300's snout to meet bumper standards. We're also wondering what you think - does it look OK or horrid to you? Know of any worse bumpers currently on the market? Let us know in the comments section below.

All I know is that the 300 bumper is very easy to accidentally rip off on a high curb. My friend ripped the bumper off twice on their SRT8, and a bit downmarket in the Sebring, I've ripped the front bumper off once.

Theres nothing wrong with that barely-noticeable foam in the grille though.
