Touche.

I sold my 300CD Mercedes in anticipation of getting a new VW TDI - and running biodiesel in it like I did in my two previous Benz's.

I'm here to tell you, loud and clear: running B99, you can go fast enough to get arrested in all 50 states for speeding. It smells pretty good too.

When I was a kid of 14, I had a 2-stroke moped, and never enough money. So I use my Moms vegetable oil in the gas premix. Dean's comment on "it smells good too"
brought back that memory. It smelled like popcorn when corn oil was added. Does it smell the same in a car?
Regarding this short film: Driving you diesel van cross-country and doing so by begging used oil from friendly restaurant managers is one thing, all of us using bio-fuels is quite another. Oil as it's pumped from the ground is nearly a fuel already, and the refining process takes it the rest of the way. Bio is an involved process that consumes large amounts of energy all along its cycle. In the end the amount of energy consumed vs. the amount of energy received is not an attractive ratio. Oil companys are in the profit buisness, if it could be done better and cheaper we'd be there. The Sundance Film Festival award is no suprise, anything that rails against greedy corporations would have their support. Can Michael Moore be far behind?
