2010 Camaro, Yes or No?
Seyth Miersma
GM finally pulled the last curtain on the 2010 Camaro , with official pricing and order start date being about the only mysteries left. GM's Ed Peper told us today that they'd already gotten half a million "hand-raisers" for the new car, a big number, but will it be on your shopping list in 2010? Will it be on anyone's, even with a 26 mpg V-6, if gas is $5+ nationwide?

No, for now. Only because I want to see what the next Solstice is like and the Camaro doesn't sport a turbo.

Yes, yes, YES! This is the car I have been waiting for. My thought is get a nice big V-8 while they still exist! This will be my second car, I've been driving a 2002 Impala LS Sport since I was 16 (lucky me I got it new). Now that I have graduated college, starting my MBA, and put 125,000 miles (and a new Transmission) on the Impala it's time for a change. I had previously been thinking about holding out for a CTS Coupe, but no official news means I will have to wait a long time, I think. So my answer is a Camaro, I will buy it with an extended warranty (not making that mistake again) and fully loaded. Now I just need to decide on a color and transmission. How about GM outsources and drops in a dual clutch!?

If I was making at least $40K, sure. But I'm not.

Hey! No dual-clutch! It has the transmission it needs... The one with 3 pedals! One clutch is more than enough! ;-)

Gotta agree with you here Steve. As much as I love a good dual-clutch (and I do) doesn't really feel right for the Camaro does it?

Nope, IMHO, GM really screwed it up with the Camaro's styling. It will probably be a great car, but I can't get past the looks.

Forgot to write my darty comment: would GM have come with this Camaro 2 years ago...it wouldn´t be on the brink...

Cool car, but the Shelby Mustang smoked it by 100 + HP. Alas, perhaps the taxpayers, as new owners of GM, can inject some more ponies. Hah, not likely. Oh well.

I cant wait to trade my Charger RT for one, now I just have to wait one to two years till I can get one at MSRP or below, the dealers in my area here in VA want 6000 over MSRP.
