If you've tested or purchased an Evo X, please comment here.

What were
your expectations?

How well does the Evo X fulfill them?

Did you drive/buy the GSR or the MR?

What
gas mileage are you getting?

How is the performance?

The seats are said
to be comfortable, are they?

What other vehicles did you shop?

I've driven the Evo X at a dealer, and have had the chance to drive the iX and VIII as well. These are all very fun cars. The well balanced AWD, quick steering and juicy anti-roll makes street cornering a blast. The engine seems incredibly strong, though I actually think it isn't terribly fast (fast yes, but not as fast as it feels). That is another great feature. To me the car feels kind of cheap, but who cares?

I drove this car and the new STi on the same day. Completely different. Both are interesting, but it is like comparing a Porsche and a Corvette.

I drove it. It seemed very similar to the Evo VIII I had driven, except the engine seemed a little more thrashy and the ride seemed better damped. Still a nice car but it seems to demand attention all the time (hard to relax in this one). I also thought the seats weren't quite as comfortable as in the Evo VIII (still pretty good though, and maybe I didn't get them dialed in).

Is there a significant difference between the GSR and MR suspension (Eibach/Koni parts)? If so, what's the difference in terms of ride and handling?

Both MR and GSR feel the same in terms of handling. You wouldn't notice the difference on the street. I drove both and purchased a GSR about 3 weeks ago. If you want the most comfort you buy the MRP with the satnav and all the fancy gear, but you wont get the same performance as the GSR, it is slightly faster. I tried the MR and found that it was too easy to be in race car mode during daily driving, it was a ticket or accident waiting to happen (besides the floppy paddles suck). The GSR requires a bit more from the driver and is a bit easier to drive in a civilized manner. I live in the country and drive it on gravel daily and its a bit rough compared to an Audi or volvo. I tested a few cars on overnight and extended test drives including the Audi A4, the Volvo S60R, and Subaru WRX STI. The EVO X has the stiffest suspension of all of them and is a pure driving car. Its not for people that want luxury and comfortable ride. Its for people who want pure driving performance everyday on the ride to work. the WRX STI is very close in performance and price but it still can not defeat the EVO on the track in the hands of a fairly experienced driver.

Is there a ride difference between the MR and GSR?
