Inexplicably the Terminator Salvation Killer Bike has a tail light?
hahahahahahahaa
Kevin Hartgerink
I think those may be eyes and the bike is actually facing the other way. Just a guess.

Peter O'Toole rode (and then crashed) a Brough Superior in the opening scene of Lawrence of Arabia. This is the real bike that the real Lawrence was killed riding in 1935. Link is to the real Lawrence on the real bike; I could not find a picture of Peter O'Toole on the movie version of the bike.

Mission Impossible: Triumph Speed Triple.
How come there's so many Triumphs in movies? They must be cool!

One of the Matrix movies...Ducati 998 in dark green. Take a look at the passenger!
1985 Gripen
It was a 2003 Ducati 996 in dark green from The Matrix Reloaded. This is the first bike I thought of too and was surprised it didn't "make the cut" even though a couple of fantasy bikes (Akira, Terminator:Salvation) did.
Click here for a clip of the scene featuring this bike.

Silver Dream Racer

The author(centre) watches as Barry Ditchburn prepares to ride the Silver Dream Machine
built specially for the movie of the same name starring David Essex.
After his recovery, Colin was approached by Clive Laws, the landlord of the George Inn on the
Botley Road. Chive had purchased a 500cc Sparton from the renowned Caernarfon manufacturer, Barry Hart.
Barry had built the famous '
Silver
Dream Racer ' for the David Essex movie of the same name. One Wednesday in 1980, I happened to be taking part on a
test day at Mallory Park where British 750 champion Barry Ditchburn was trying out this particular
bike for the film.
As I came out of Shaws Hairpin on my 750 Yamaha, The Silver Dream Racer overtook me on its back
wheel, in a mindboggling display of skill and control. Being on the track at the same time as 'Ditch' was
like practising at Wembley with George Best. An experience one is never adequately qualified
to describe.

How about Batman's bike in the latest -- The Dark Knight?

Possibly the one of the best motorcycle movies ever made is "High Speed" a romantic drama staring beautiful British actress Sienna Miller and is centered on her two boy friends racing in the SBK World Superbike Championship. A great story line, great on location production at the SBK races. Very similar in style to Steve McQueen's LeMans, but with a much better story line and acting. High Speed was never released in America, but it is now available in DVD format on exclusively at Amazon.com. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

As the one time owner/rider of an ancient Norton, I have a warm spot in my heart for the breed - despite the challenges of long distance travel on a 1939 Norton 500, depicted in the film "Motorcycle Diaries"

I would like to pretend I watched his film, for the Harley Davidson motorcycle, that Marrianne Faithful was riding, naked beneath her one piece, skin tight, leather jump suit, but you probably would not believe me?
I was only 13, when this film came out though!
I do recall reading about it in Motor Cycle Newa (MCN) that the stunt double was a guy, with a wig.
Anyone recall the actual Motorbike used in this Film was?
(funny how many dont seem to have paid much attention to that?)

No contest - Best Motorcycle movie ever made is the movie where the motorcycles were the stars as well as the center of the plot (well, riding motorcycles was the plot). The movie?...it is "ON ANY SUNDAY", circa 1969. I was in college when I saw the movie. I rode my new motorcycle (a 1970 BMW R60/5)to the theater; after the movie let out, the parking lot lit up in a psudo-race. If you enjoy motorcycles in any form or function, and you haven't yet seen ON ANY SUNDAY, then you are missing out on some real riding history.
Randy Montgomery
Electra-Glide in Blue (circa 1973) - the Harley was one of the stars if not the main star.
There is a great scene of 1940's Indian Chiefs moto-crossing thru Central Park (New York City) in "the Phantom" (1996)
Of course "On any Sunday" ranks way up there.
There is a good BSA Lightning scene in "If" starring Malcolm McDowell. (1968)

If you're going to list animated motorcycles, then the list should include the light bikes from the movie Tron.
