The New V-max Has 197 HP!!

SRichards

According to cycleworld.com, 23 years after it was first introduced, Yamaha is introducing the new V-max featuring a 1679cc v-four engine (of course) pumping out a claimed 197 horsepower at the crank and 123 foot-pounds of torque at 6500 rpm.

That would make the new Max the most powerul production moorcycle ever built, according to Cycle World. Long live the king!

Plus, it has a ride-by-wire throttle and tons of other updates (check out http://motorcycledaily.com/04june08_star2009vmax_p1.htm). Twenty three years has been good to Mr. Max. Is anyone else psyched to see this rocket ship hit the showroom floors (at 18 grand by the way)?

Cool I guess, but not sure I see the point from a rider's perspective.

Holy crap.  Always loved that bike... now I love it even more.
