Porsche PDK Transmission

The new 997.5 Carrera's PDK tranny has a sport mode that apparently makes the shift more "emotional". By that I guess Porsche means that some of the smoothness is dialed out and a bit of a power surge is felt once the next gear hits. Kind of like the way you shift a conventional manual?
Also, I didn't realize that its a 7 speed box. Is that good or bad?

Ducati Minor
Read it in Drivers' Republic. Very impressive.
It's good for people who can use a clutch pedal...it's bad for purists who will see more bimbos driving 911s.

But why did they make the shifter move the wrong way (forward push to upshift, backward pull to downshift)? Wrong because the forces on your body are working the opposite way with those motions.

the porsche PDK transmission is the first time ever I have ever thought of buying a porsche. Usually a little slow in acceleration, the pdk makes the various cars a little quicker. BMW also has a dual clutch sequential transmission in joining audi TTS.
Its a shame that the impressive R8 is hampered by a single computer clutch activation.
Porsche made the right move to offer this technology.
