Has Ford's Fusion Hybrid Laid the Smackdown on Toyota's Green Crown?

With forty miles-per-gallong being touted in official estimates, Ford has a lot to be proud of with its new Fusion Hybrid.  The Hybrid is just one variant is a bold refresh of Ford's new flagship family sedan--and it's the one that's generated the most buzz.  The bigger deal with the Fusion Hybrid's 40 mpg rating is its comparison to the Camry Hybrid's "mere" 34 mpg in testing. 

Has Ford finally dampened Toyota's place on the Green Throne?

If one care's about these things I suppose it would be "exciting" to have more choices and competition in the market. I just see this as a MUCH better option than buying a Prius if mpg is your priority.
