Gamer's Corner: Info Leaked on Xbox 360's Forza Motorsports 3

Forza2HL

While the Gran Turismo series still ranks as the best driving simulator we’ve experienced, the Forza Motorsport games have come closer than any others to taking the GT throne.

A set of documents leaked this weekend from what is claimed to be a video game marketing source, spilling some details about an upcoming Forza Motorsports 3 which is still in development. The new Xbox 360 title is said to be shipping on two game discs due to the huge amount of content.

Predicted features include:

- Over 400 cars and 100 tracks

- “Near limitless” options for car customization and tuning

- Highly accurate racing simulations, including “real world” damage

- New race modes including, drag racing, drifting, and oval track

- A variety of online community features

The news may still be highly speculative at this point but the additions of real damage simulation and the massive car roster would seem to be right in line with what is planned for GT5. Could Forza’s latest attempt be the game that unseats Gran Turismo as the greatest driving sim? Give us a shout, in comments.

Yes, Forza 3 will blow GT out of the water. Forza 2 is already without competition- there is no GT to compare it to. GT4 = Forza 1. Forza 2 is incredible, and fosters a real sense of community, unlike GT5 Prologue, and unless they get some serious changes happening, GT5 just won't have the same friendly feel Forza 2 has. And the driving physics on FM1/2 are better than GT4. Yeah, I said it. GT is old- they were certainly the benchmark in their day, but in modern times they've fallen behind. Forza is here, and it's here to stay.

The Forza franchise is essentially proprietary--as is that of Gran Turismo. The people at Turn 10 put out an amazing game, but so do those at Polyphony. Unless the current-gen gamer today is affluent enough to support multiple platforms (in this case an XBox360 and a PS3), the conversation is largely moot. Nevertheless, in terms that ignore these pragmatic issues, it's also clear that the two games are happily distinct in a number of ways. Some might be perfectly content with higher-res car models and replays that follow the progression around the track in varying position throughout a race, say, while others would rather customize their cars and mind little when the replay camera spins around them rather than following the course. Gran Turismo has built a rather large fan base, one that started playing locally; and it seems to understand that those players still play locally (evidenced by its inclusion of split-screen play and two-player race replays). Conversely, Forza owes much of its success, objectively, as do other proprietary XBox360 games, to the popularity of XBox Live and players interested in playing online. But it's also important to note that XBox is still very much a domestic U.S. console--present in Europe, sure, but largely ignored in this current and its former iteration in Asia, the global hub for games and gamers.

Ultimately, Player A can rant about polygon count and Player B can soapbox about damage modeling, they can grind out old arguments all day long about the superiority of Gran Turismo or of Forza, but both games have areas for improvement and perhaps avid racing gamers would be better served conceding that the juxtapositioning of these games helps Polyphony and Turn 10 make them better. And that's good for everyone.

Forza 3 will very probably smoke GT5. Who knows Forza 1 very well and spend enough time with Forza 2 will notice that FM2 just doesn't feel finish. Even it's still a great fun game. And the guys @ Turn 10 know that. So for Forza 3 they wont take chance. This time it'll be a start to finish victory.

The rectangle shaped face needs links of londonjewelry that adds width and camouflages the length of the face. A highchoker reduces the length of the face, particularly if the neck is toolong. In addition, a 16¡å or 18¡å necklace that ends in a ¡°U¡±flatters this face. Long hair and narrow links of london is perfect match which can impress others as a fair lady. Fancy clothes coordinating links of london with slight tint could be better.
