List: Ten Cars We Wish Were Still Sold Here

In honor of our sad farewell to the Honda S2000, we bring you this list of fairly recent cars we wish we could still buy in the U.S.

The VW van is a joke, right?  RIGHT??

Dude, the VW Eurovan is/was an awesome value if you were in the market for a multi-passenger van in America. Let's face it, your choices were Caravan/Odessey/Sienna or Econoline. The Eurovan was King Sh** of Turd Island in that crowd.

One that I would add is the 1st generation Scion xB..

Good List.  You can add the S-2000 Honda  to that list. Will be adding several of those cars (Magnum, MR-2) to my stable in the near future as low mileage examples come to my attention at bargain prices.

The Honda Civic SI hatchback is also missed, though we are still thoroughly enjoying the SI coupe.

There is only one car that I WILL REALLY MISS and alas you forgot to include it here,,,,,,, THE ACURA NSX,,,,,,,,,,,,of all the cars I have wanted to own that was the one. Could not afford it , the day I was in the ACURA dealer and bought my '93 LEGEND COUPE black on black I sat in an NSX while they were doing the paperwork for me and dreamed a while. Sixteen years later I still have the LEGEND and love it as i did on day one but  still secretly pine for an NSX,,,,,,,Maybe a used one one day before ???????,,,,,,,,,thanx for the format.

If Chrysler still sold K-Cars they could possibly make some money.

A simple twist on "The peoples car" concept.

My nominee (just saw a one that look like new on the road today) is the Nissan 240SX -- baby Z.

The Saab 2001-2002 9-3 Viggen would get my vote.  Sweetest car to drive.  And now you can get them cheap.

I would think the Supra and Celica should be included in this lineup.  As for Toyota not having an exciting car...There are talks of a "ToyoBaru" -unnofficially- (A cross between the company that made the Supra and the company making the STi? Sounds like a contender for the recordbooks!) which could MORE than make up for no sports-vehicle currently in Toyota's lineup.

200mph

Dodge should bring back the Stealth. Tweak the body style lighten the frame and body and shoehorn a 3.5 litre in the engine bay. With twin turbos and all wheel drive it would very popular and a blast to drive, again.

Ford Focus? Are you guys for real?  Have you ever seen a Focus after a *slight* fender-bender? How about the 1988 Saab 900, 16V, Turbo? Built like a tank, engineered by the best, and flies like the jets they once built! I seriously question the competency of these choices!

Love great cars, particularly performance vehicles. I agree with most of this list except the Eurovan and Ford Focus. I drove the Magnus with the 250hp HO engine for a company work vehicle. It was great with AWD. It made the family car cool, even sexy. I also own a Z4 M Coupe and I never ever get tired of looking at it. I call it "sculpture on wheels" and I love the complex lines that make it look like a much more expensive exotic. When I took it to Vegas it would occassionally get parked out front with the Maseratti's and Aston Martins. I wish everyone could drive one for the exhilirating experience. They didn't make many. They were not terribly popular and you might find one for a decent price and low miles if you look around.

How can ANYBODY miss any foreign cars?If ALL  those eye sores were gone from our roads we can call this America again!  I miss Oldsmobile, Pontiac (even though they are not gone yet), Plymouth. Gone! Thanks to traitors.

twinturbo

Olds and Pontiac ARE gone.

I agree with everything but the focus and the newer Mr2. I think a beer can has more structural stability that car. As for the Mr2 I would have to go with the earlier generations (turbo models), I have driven most of those cars (all but the amg) and taking into consideration  what each one was designed for they are amazing in thier own way. As someone comented on bringing back the stealth, I say no way. The Mitsubishi 3000 VR4 was way better than Chrysler's sad attempt at the stealth - ugly, I know they are the same as far as the internals.

Slap a snail on it and drive it like you stole it! BOOOSSSST!!

I am still missing the Honda CRX. I just plain loved that car. Fun to drive, gas mileage that still is a struggle to meet. It fit me so well. I would certainly buy another if it was offered.

twinturbo

Fair list, and I know everybody has a special memory car, but one car that MUST be on a list like this is the 3rd generation, twin turbo, Mazda RX7. I own alot of special cars including a 435 HP '67 Corvette, 928 Porsche, and 850HP '68 Hurst Super Stock Hemi Dart; just to mention a few, but the twin turbo RX7 is the most fun car I have ever driven. In stock form it's like a go-cart on steroids!!!! If it is tweeked a little, you don't even want to get in it. I imagine it was overlooked for this list because very few people ever knew what it was or still is. Try to find one in good, original, condition and take a test drive. You will love it. Mine is perfect and not for sale. SORRY!! HA!! HA!!

The new shop, designer wedding gowns, is almost directly opposite his existing ready-to-wear and couture boutique, at No. 27, which opened in 1984. The models this week were nine divorcees who were willing to give their designer wedding dresses major makeovers! The designers had to turn old wedding dress into a hip outfit they “can wear in the next chapter of their lives.” Some of the dresses the PR designers had to work with were SCARY. For example, Irina Shabayeva worked with a massive, lacy cheap wedding dresses while Shirin Askari had a itty bitty dress.
