Marchione: Chrysler Bankruptcy Coming

Fiat CEO Sergio Marchionne expects to see Chrysler enter into Chapter 11 bankruptcy very soon--or so says CAW chief Ken Lewenza.  The union boss told Leftlane News that he conversed with Marchione and the Italian exec stated, "...if I was a betting man, I would suggest Chrysler is going to fall into Chapter 11."

Talk of the Auburn Hills automaker going into liquidation has eased off since the CAW accepted further concessions after a deadlock with Fiat.  The Chapter 11 plan being floated around is said to be a quick court restructure that will repackage the heavy debt the concern is in.  More directly on the matter, Fiat vice-chair Ken Eklann warned of the need to wait until Thursday for the verdict on Chrysler and its effort to restructure.

Chrysler is currently investing in a fleet of EVs, as well as a revised Jeep Grand Cherokee and 300 sedan set to be launched early next decade.
