Mercedes-Benz Offers Glimpse of SLS AMG Gullwing
Not content to let the world continue to drool over the many and varied spy shots of its upcoming SLS “Gullwing” AMG that already exist, the company is taking the event of the Geneva Motor Show to further stir the pot. M-B released a set of its own spy pics today, along with some basic, early information about the future supercar.
The SLS will be smaller and lighter than the current top dog SLR McLaren, cutting some 300 pounds from the bottom line. Power will come courtesy of the AMG 6.2-liter V-8, rated for 563 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. Zero to sixty-two miles per hour will come up in just 3.8-seconds, and the top speed will be as high as 196 miles per hour.
Don’t expect Mercedes to bring a final version of the car to Geneva, word is it still isn’t ready for prime time, but do expect to see the real deal sometime very soon. Take a closer look at the car in our gallery above.
