Car Summary: The BMW M3 has established a deserved reputation for excellence, but with each generation the car has adopted a different character. This E92 generation car, with a 414 hp V-8, would seem to be the most extreme rendition, and yet the car is nearly Lexus-quiet and has a superbly comfortable if firm ride. Handling is very well balanced, but some body roll is evident thanks in part to a curb weight of 3704 lb. The engine and manual transmission are fun to use, but the new for 2009 7-speed dual clutch automated manual may be even better with the the rev-hungry V-8.
