Car Summary: SUVs aren't normally known as fun to drive, but the BMW X5 is a pleasure. The steering is good, the handling - especially with the option active roll control - is crisp, and the ride is firm but well damped. Big news for 2009 is the arrival of diesel power, in the form of BMW's superb turbo six, with 425 lb.-ft. of torque and probable fuel economy in the mid-20s.
