More Rumors of Buick "Astra"
According to GM Inside News, Buick will be picking up the Astra from Saturn, which General Motors recently announced it would axe. This news is no surprise, as we have already seen a baby Buick mule running around.
If this is true, Buick may be picking up the Opel models for which Saturn was, until recently, supposed to be the American outlet.
No word yet as to what the Buick model will be called, or which versions will be produced (three- or five-door).

huh? If GM is selling off the Opel name this totally does not make any sense.

This is proof that dumb decisions are still being made at GM. What exactly is this car supposed to accomplish? Who needs an entry level Buick?

|Saturn dealers are getting screwed here. They bought the franchise, they supported it. Now, they're getting nothing. Who would ever pay for the "privelege" of being a GM dealer, any brand?

Yah - If memory serves - First, Buick sold actual Opels, then later, something called a "Buick Opel" - An Asian-produced car with an 'Opel' emblem. I believe it was badge-engineered car rolled out in response to the perceived demand for economy cars, back in the day.
