There is no free lunch or easy answers to finding a substitute for oil. Unfortunately most people look at biofuels or plug in/hybrids as solutions with no downside, and resort to name calling and scolding if those solutions are questioned.

With the need to grow more food to feed a growing poulation in the east and Africa, the cost to the environment and soil degridation from the lack of crop rotation to the health issues brought up in the article, we all better be prepared to ask the tough questions.

There isn't anything wrong with thoughtful discussion and study of solid scientific data...
