eBay Auction of the Day: 1969 MV Agusta by Dave Kay
Though the relationship seems a bit convoluted, this fetching 1969 MV Agusta café style motorcycle was apparently built as a tribute to Enzo Ferrari under authorization of Ferrari SPA itself. That sanctioning, along with there only being two of these in existence, is what supposedly justifies the incendiary price tag of $120,000.
Though we perhaps don’t understand the breeding well enough to comprehend its value, there’s no doubting that this MV by British builder Dave Kay is pretty hot. The slinky bodywork is all hand-beaten aluminum, and the practically unused engine has exotic magnesium castings. The sellers claim that that bike runs like a “Swiss Watch

This won't sell. It's not attractive, overpriced, and the MV name is not hot outside the Euro superbike community.

Beautiful bike! MV is a great brand and that is a beautiful machine.... if the story about its heritage is true then i suppose it might be worth the stiff asking price to the right person... course that person isnt me I am sorry to say...

there is some confusion about this bike. Dave kay built a Ferrari bike sanctioned by the factory, but this wasnt it. This was built later for bike dealer Phil Cotton.
It shares some of the features such as the Dellorto carb setup.
Dave and Mark do build the worlds best classic bikes,[see their Gilera 4 and MV 3 grand prix bikes] but for that money I would sell my own Kay Gilera 500/4 on which I finished 7th at the manx GP, and that really is special.
