Originally conceived of by race car-builder Bill Thomas, the Cheetah was a rather abortive attempt by General Motors to create a real rival to the A/C Cobras of Carroll Shelby and cross-town rivals Ford. After experiencing early success with the car, GM pulled direct funding for all racing projects including the Cheetah.

Wow - the seats - they really meant bucket seats back in those days.
Great looking car and I'm sure it would be highly entertaining to drive but I think you'd need to either be highly able at yoga or have a friend (or two!) to get in and out of it!
