Nissan’s Dual Injector Equals More Fuel- and Cost-Efficient Engines
Today, Nissan announced a dual-injection system designed for small-displacement engines. Dual injection (pictured above right) requires less pressure than typical direct injection systems, and allows for much smaller fuel droplets in the cylinder. The result is less unburned fuel, better fuel economy, fewer hydrocarbon emissions, and a less-costly fuel injection system.
Expect to see Nissan’s Dual Injector to be used in small-displacement engines beginning in early fiscal 2010.
