Oh No! Train Wreck Ruins New Porsche 911s
What a terrible way to start a day. Early on Wednesday morning, two packed freight trains collided outside of Dillenberg, Germany. The precious cargo? About twenty Porsche 911s along with a bunch of other luxury vehicles.
While most of the Porsches didn't fare too well in the crash (as these pictures would suggest), some cars were still able to be salvaged. Thankfully, the crash was not a total catastrophe, especially since one of the trains was pulling tankers of flammable liquids.

The article states that some of the cars were able to be salvaged - I'd take that to mean that a number of them didn't sustain serious damage, maybe some of them will survive to do the twisty road thing . . .

I know here in the states they usually scrap all the vehicles if they can be salvaged or not. That or they sell them under a "salvage" title. Its to protect the manufacturer from getting railroaded if someone bought the vehicle, had a wreck, and the airbags (or some other safety device) didn't work. I don't know how the germans deal with it.

At least nothing of value was lost.
I kid, I kid!
