VIDEO: Chrysler Turns Excess Paint into Electricity
Chrysler’s St. Louis assembly plant has, apparently, teamed up with Missouri Utility Ameren Services to use paint byproduct – or excess paint – to make electricity.
The automaker removes the water from the excess paint, leaving it in soft paint chunks, where it is blended with coal. The paint-coal mix is burned to produce steam that turns a turbine to produce electricity. The recycled paint reduces the paint by-products harmful waste.

I wonder if the 570 tons takes into account the energy used and the pollution created by the big transport trucks and the bulldozer. Seems like a bit of a farce to me.

Micah, I suppose they could just do it the old fashioned way and dump the paint into the local river or lake in the middle of the night.
