I've been traveling to Korea for business for the past 4 years. Generally not very conscious of the vehicles. It was about a year or two ago that I got into a taxi that was to be the Hyundai Azera in the US. By enthusiast standards, it was nothing exceptional. However, in terms of fit, finish and design, it was leaps and bounds ahead of what I thought of as a typical Hyundai. It occurred to me that the Japanese and Europeans should be concerned (US pretty much out of the picture). I've watched Samsung embrace quality and brand image to an extent that has shocked me in comparison to the time it took Japanese companies to understand this aspect of the market. Now it appears that Hyundai has made similar strides; most impressive.
