Question of the Day: If Sebastian Vettel Were A Stock, Would You Buy or Sell?

We were all awfully excited after this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix but we do feel that perhaps the rhetoric surrounding Sebastian Vettel’s now brilliant future may have gotten ratcheted one notch too high. Is Vettel’s value about to shoot through the roof, or are we seeing the highest point of his career? Give us your answer, in comments.

I suspect that his advantage may be in the wet. Some drivers have a better feel for driving in the rain.

He'll probably be a good driver, and have more wins, but I doubt that he'll have more wins this season.

With a face like that: SELL.

Buy for sure.  I'd hold through at least 2010... Still have to see how KERS/Slicks/Less Downforce affects the game next year... and how Red Bull does.  I see Vettel moving to a bigger team eventually... and I've thought so since I saw him drive at Indy last year.

He won a race in the rain when Kimi and Ham screwed up in qualifying and didn't get out of Q-2. He also was the only driver with unrestricted visibility due to starting from pole. It was a good win for a team that has been getting better, but still isn't in the top tier. I think he is good, but the jury is out until he drives a competitive car in the dry and gives the top teams a run for their money.

Giacomo

He's a very good driver with inferior equipment. Seems the usual wet weather guys could not keep up. Kimi will be out this year but I see him winning next years crown as Ferrari will just out spend others. Massa is good only in some conditions but Kubica and Hamilton are good in all. Hamilton's this years champ if the FIA and his sometimes bad judgement don't loose it for him. Scott Speed was stupid in his approach to his team but was a helluva driver.

Would I buy stock in him, better than Lehman Brothers I think.

Zarba

Yes, he did have the advantage of good visibility in the opening laps, but Alonso, Kovalainen and Kubica, no slouches themselves, could do nothing to catch and pass him.

He benefited from Raikkonen and Hamilton's mistakes in Q2, but he had a Ferrari, McLaren, BMW, and Renault in the top 10, with the #2 Championship contender (Massa), a two-time World Champion (Alonso), and Kovi on his tail.

He drove a brilliant race, and showed great poise and focus to keep the car on the tack in very bad conditions. I expected Kovi to slipstream and pass on Lap 1, and the others to follow suit as they ran down the STR, but nobody could touch Vettel on Sunday.

A great drive, and a wonderful race to watch. Full Marks to Vettel.

Buy!

I'm buying. Say what you will about his taking advantage of Hamilton and Raikkonen not being on their games, but he still outqualified in Q3 one McLaren, one Ferrari, and two BMWs, which is no small task. The STR is improving, and proving the Bourdais and Vettel are good drivers. Vettel had better hope that Red Bull gets it together for next year. But I do believe if they don't, he'll find a way to Ferrari or McLaren. So yeah, buying. He's baby Schumi, with a ton of time to grow and get a bunch more wins.

Buy buy buy...Eventhough the stockmarket seemingly has crashed, I highly recommend buying Vettelstocks

Mena

Definitely a buy. He showed what he's capable of when given the proper equipment. STR was definitely on their game that day and Vettel took advantage of it to showcase his talents. Good job!!
