Rental Corvette ZHZ Crashes into Dallas Restaurant

Sadly, the number of Corvette ZHZs in Hertz's inventory has gone down one, to 499. The ill-fated 'fun collection' rental had a run in with a popular Dallas eatery, La Madeleine, at roughly 11 a.m., Monday of last week. While there are few details at the moment, what is known is that the car lost control, crashed into the building, and came to a stop in the patio eating area.  Thankfully, no one was badly injured, according to an employee of the restaurant.

"the car lost control", how about the "driver lost control" or "the driver ran out of talent"?

So, how exactly did that car get into that space? I don't see any obvious way to get a car from the road into where it is resting. Awesome.

 Hope he got insurance.

Yah, that's odd; most ritzy restaurants like that one offer neither curb service or drive-thru lanes. . . I know! Valet parking, first day on the job. Or, perhaps this person hadn't driven a corvette before, except maybe on 'Grand Theft Auto', or something . . . 'No one was badly injured'. I sure hope not.

I just returned my ZHZ on Monday after 250 fun miles. What a blast. Considering the responsiveness of this car (I wasn't a 'vette fan until I drove it), it is pretty easy to assume the driver was playing with a toy beyond his/her ability. It is a fun car and worth the experience. I was able to take mine from SeaTac up to and around Mt. Rainier. Sunny, scenic, roofless. Good times. Nice job, Chevy and Hertz!

Thought an accurate version of the story might be of interest..

For the record, I opt'd for LDW coverage. Heh.
