Spy Shot: Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe is Nabbed

The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class coupe has been spotted during some final engineering shakedowns in preparations for the car’s imminent arrival in the spring of next year. Following its brother the E-Class convertible in the wave of recent Mercedes spy shots, the new coupe is expected to share all engine and transmission options—a tasty assortment of V-6s and V-8s—with the rest of the class.

The lack of exterior cladding hints at a car that is nearly completed, and shows the further development of the new M-B corporate face, and the continued use of the high, rising beltline that was born with the CLS. Enjoy the spy photographs in the gallery above, or some additional notes from the shooter below.

Last week we gave you some photos of the upcoming Mercedes E-Class Convertible, and even if it was still rather camouflaged, we could see that is was a folding hardtop convertible.

Now we give you some photos of the E-Class Coupe, and in this case, the prototype has only light camouflage. We can clearly see all the lines and shapes of this new coupe, and as far as we can say, it looks really good.

We will find the same engine and transmission options in the Coupe and Convertible as in the normal E sedan.
The E-Class Coupe will be out in a show room close to you in spring 2009.
