Our spy photographer just sent us these excellent shots of the Bentley Continental Supersports, which can run on E85. The Supersports is capable of 621 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. It has a top speed 204 miles per hour, and a 0-60 time of 3.7 seconds, thanks to its 6.0-liter W-12 and a weight reduction of 220 pounds over the GT speed.

Bentleys green mean mashine

The environmental hysteria around the world escapes no one, not even the luxury and supersportscar manufacturers such as Bentley. At the Geneva Salon earlier this year, they showed up an ethanol converted Continental GT which they named the Continental Supersports. Perhaps one could imagine a more environmentally additional name, but no - supersports fit this E85-car perfect considering to the power the W12 engine of 6.0 liter delivers, 630 horsepower. It is 20 more than the GT Speed and 78 more than the Continental GT. This is also reflected in the performance figures. While the two aforementioned do 0-100 km/h in 4.5 and 4.8 seconds the Continental Supersports does the same sprint in 3.9 seconds. Although top speed is higher than for the engine weaker siblings, namely 329 km/h compared with 322 and 318 km/h.

However, the high top speed is not just because the extra horsepower. Bentley engineers have magically removed 110 kilograms compared to the GT Speed. This by using very light materials such as carbon fiber.

The engine is linked to a new version of the Quickshift box that is said to switch gears twice as fast as the previous version. The power is then sent to all four wheels driving under the pattern 40/60. Other mechanical changes from the Continental GT and GT Speed is 50 millimeters wider track width of the rear axle. This gives a better behavior on the road, especially on the track.

 Tonight our spy photographers got a view of the car when it was unloaded just outside the track of Nürburgring. There it will do a bunch of laps to get it perfect for the it's launch later this year or early next year.

You may think the car looks like a normal Continental GT? Take an extra look at the pictures and you will see differences. Air intakes in the  front is larger for better cooling of engine and brakes. Rear bumper has a slightly different appearance, just as the end pipes. Otherwise, it is the same, including 20-inch rims, just as it should be on a Continental GT.
