Spy Shots: Is This the 998 Porsche 911 Targa?
If the 998 Porsche 911 Targa looks comfortable in the snow, it’s because it shares the all-wheel drive system of the 997. We’re not sure, but we’re hopeful that it will also be available in two-wheel drive.
The headlights of the 998 are more upright, and we like the look of the door-mounted side mirrors. In all, the Targa appears to evolve similarly to the other 998s we’ve seen on the roads , but with these shots, we Targa enthusiasts finally get our fix.
Don’t expect to see this car in showrooms until 2011. We hope to see more 998 spy shots in the meantime.

Is this the new Porsche 911 Targa?
We have seen photos of the Porsche 911 Coupe and Convertible before, but when we looked at the roof on the car on these photos more careful we noticed the lines indicating that this might be the Targa model.
If the new 911 Targa only will be available with four-wheel drive like the 997 is still unclear, but since the four-wheel drive is a little heavier and needs a little more fuel, the chance is big that it will be available in both two and four-wheel drive this time.
Expect the new 911 Coupe to be unveiled first, and then six months after that the Convertible. The Targa enthusiasts will probably have to wait another six months for their model.
