Spy Shots: Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG at the Nürburgring
Mercedes-Benz has already shown off its upcoming SLS AMG under heavy camo. Now, our spy photographer has sent us pictures of the little gullwing AMG taking laps around the Nürburgring.
Smaller and lighter than the McLaren, this SLS will feature AMG’s 6.2-liter V-8 engine, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which propels the car from 0-60 in just 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 196 miles per hour.
We hope to see this car at Frankfurt.

We have seen the upcoming Mercedes AMG SLS prototypes for so long now; it almost feels like the car will be able to get a classic insurance right from the start. AMG has been giving away more and more details and photos of the car, like the interior, engine and gearbox, but they still haven’t showed us the complete car yet. But, as we can see, the prototypes are dropping more and more of its camouflage and we are able to get a better look of this 571 horsepower strong modern classic. This time they took the AMG SLS for some laps at the “Green Hell”, the famous Nürburgring. They have been doing a lot of laps there with the SLS, but this was the first time with a prototype wearing that little amount of camouflage.
Debut is set for the Frankfurt Car Show in September.
