Spy Shots: Porsche 997 GT3 RS
The Porsche 997 GT3 RS, seen here, may have the same 3.8-liter flat six-cylinder engine as the regular GT3, but it certainly is not the same vehicle. Those same 435 ponies power a lighter Porsche with wider wheels, a different suspension, and an enormous adjustable wing. Rumors of it getting the PDK transmission make it even more desirable.

Even if Porsche already had begun to develop the next generation 911, there are still some versions of the 997 that haven’t got the face lift yet, and one of those models is the hardcore version of the GT3, the 997 GT3 RS.
The GT3 RS is based on the wider body from the Carrera 4S, but in this case it looks like the front fenders are even wider. We also notice that huge and adjustable rear wing that helps the car keep on track while racing on top speed. And just speed is a matter to buy the RS version instead of the regular GT3. Not that the GT3 is a slow car, but the lighter RS version is even more of a driver’s car. Wider wheels, changed suspension and less weight makes this a road legal racecar.
Engine will remain the same as in the regular GT3, meaning a 3.8 liter flat six delivering some 435 wild horsepower. But a rumor we heard is that the PDK gearbox will be an option for the GT3 RS to make it even faster.
