Spy Shots: Production Version of Kia No. 3 Tested While Concept Unveiled in Geneva
Kia just presented its new small car concept called the No. 3 to the crowds in Geneva this week, a cute and compact people hauler in much the same mold as Honda’s Fit.
While the concept was under the hot spotlights however, the real thing was out and roaming the wilds of Northern Sweden, as our spy photographer can prove. The No. 3 mule seen here may not be as polished as the concept car, but it does forecast to be a decent driver, with bones from the Kia Soul and the European Hyundai i20. Engines will likely include 1.6-liter diesel and gas offerings producing around 126 horsepower each, and a later arriving 2.0-liter that could make 142 horsepower.
No word yet on whether the No. 3 will make it to North American shores.

While Kia is presenting the concept car Kia No 3 in Geneva, the production version of this small MPV is driving around in Northern Sweden during cold weather testing. This new small MPV is aiming directly at Opel Meriva and Renault Modus which where testing with the prototype for comparison.
The production version of the No 3 concept car will be based on the platform of the Kia Soul and Hyundai i20, meaning that powertrain options most likely will include 1.6 liter petrol and diesel engines, both producing an output of 126 horsepower. Later on there might be a 2.0 liter version with 142 horsepower as well. Even a mild hybrid says to be in the pipeline.
There will also be a glass roof, however not as big and bold as on the concept car, when the production car will be unveiled in late 2009 or early 2010 as a 2010 model.

Are you kidding me Seyth? Tha Honda Fit is highly inferior compared to this. Do you know that 126 HP engine which is also in the Hyundai i20 is rated for 50MPG imperial, about 46 MPG US. This is a Fit nuker hands down, Just look at this clip. The Fit doesnt hold a candle, not even close. I can see this as a 2011 Rio for the US market.

-Always Drive Foreign, the real patriotic thing to do is to let our wasteful auto industry to collapse so we can Nationalize it. We still make good trucks though.
