Spy Shots: Saab 9-5 Caught In The Cold
With General Motors looking to downsize across the board, Saab's future is still a bit unclear. Even so, the development teams overseas seem to be moving forward, as these latest spy shots of the next-generation Saab 9-5 would suggest.
The new 9-5 will be based off of the Opel Insignia platform, though the Saab will be slightly longer. As we reported earlier, the 9-5 is expected to have GM's pride-and-joy 3.6-liter V-6 under the hood for American customers, while Europe will benefit from a turbocharged V-6 and (more than likely) some diesel alternatives. Expect the swanky new 9-5 to debut this September at the Frankfurt Motor Show with the Wagon SportCombi showing its face about six months later.
