Way back in 2004 when we started Winding Road, the core philosophy was pretty simple: For Drivers. In slightly expanded form, the idea was to support the community of people who view cars as a participatory sport.
There are lots of ways to participate, of course. It seemed particularly natural to add something for the WR community that gets us out on the road. To that end, we’re pleased to announce the launch of the Winding Road Driver’s Club.
The initial plan aims at four kinds of activities: learning, track driving, inside information and fun. Well, actually we hope it’s all fun.
We’ve engaged Mark Hales to lead our driver coaching staff. Mark has driven almost every kind of racing and sporting car imaginable, often to race wins, and has written about some of them in his book Into The Red.
On the track driving front, the club will be visiting a variety of US tracks for learning days. Most of this will be done at excellent club tracks, though periodically we’ll also drive some of the great tracks, like Watkins Glen, Road America and Laguna Seca.
There’s much more, and we invite you to check it out by clicking through the link below.
