The 2011 Mercedes-Benz R-Class, as seen in these spy photos, has received quite a makeover. It has a new face, including grille, hood, bumper, headlights, LED running lights, and side mirrors. In back, it gets a new bumper, LED lights, and exhaust.

It still looks like a rolling loaf of bread, but now in a good way.

According to the shooter, it should get an engine update too, to comply with regulations. Look for the new R-Class at the Detroit show in January.

Today, Honda announced the release of the 2010 VFR1200F motorcycle, which, in their words, “establishes a whole new definition of performance motorcycling.”

It’s powered by a 1237-cubic centimeter V-4, and has an optional dual-clutch automatic transmission with paddle shifters. We don’t have all the other specs, but feel free to glean what you can from the press release below.

Recently, our own Steven Ewing attended Aston Martin’s Performance Driving School, where he drove the V8 Vantage, DB9, and DBS coupes.

The above video doesn’t feature Steven, any of the vehicles he drove, or the courses he drove them on. It, instead, it picks up where he left off. In the video, we see the Aston Martin Rapide taking on the Nürburgring in Germany, as well as Italy’s beautiful Stelvio Pass.

Infiniti announced its first production hybrid. Based on the 2011 M line, the M35 hybrid will likely be sold as a 2012 model.

While Infiniti has not released performance numbers, driving range, or what transmission it will use, the automaker has promised that it will focus on driving performance. With rear-wheel drive, a 3.5-liter V-6 engine, and design cues taken from the Essence concept we saw at the Geneva show, the M35 hybrid, Infiniti should easily make good on this promise.

The electric motor, which can propel the vehicle on its own under certain driving conditions (we imagine a similarity to the EV mode of the Toyota Prius or Lexus HS250h), it also delivers extra power to the V-6 when necessary. When not in use, the electric motor acts as a generator to charge the lithium-ion battery pack.
