NASCAR Nextel Cup: Jimmie Johnson won the Pep Boys 500 at Atlanta and now trails Jeff Gordon by a mere 9 points with three races left in the Chase. Heading to Tesas Motor Speedway, Johnson and Gordon are facing a bit of an uphill battle. Neither of the Hendrick Motorsports drivers have traditionally done very well at Texas. John only manages about a tenth place finish at Texas on average, and Gordon usually comes in about fifteenth. You can bet Clint Bowyer is hoping they do even worse this time.
NASCAR Busch: So long as Carl Edwards finishes 36th or better next weekend, the championship will be his. And the odds are pretty good that he'll do just that. History shows Kevin Harvick to be a strong contender at Texas, and he's a likely winner. David Reutimann is hoping to erode Edwards' points lead and coming off a strong race last weekend.
