We’re having a hard time justifying a need for the Mini Clubman, but we found our test car to be rather enjoyable during it’s week-long stay in our fleet. We wish it had the Cooper S Clubman’s performance specs, but with fuel economy figures of 28 miles per gallon city and 37 mpg highway, we’re not complaining.

While not an instant favorite, Mitsubishi’s Galant Ralliart did find its way into the hearts of WINDING ROAD staffers over time. While proving itself to be a bit of a surprise in terms of overall ability, there were still some things we thought needed working on in the Mitsubishi sedan. The Lexus GS460 tells you exactly what sort of car it is the moment you slip it into gear and accelerate down the ramp to merge with the evening rush-hour traffic. It is a swift, luxurious car that genuinely seems to enjoy being driven hard. It attracts admiring glances wherever it’s driven, and will make you grin like a fool on a challenging country road.

While a large portion of the U.S. media has seen fit to heap Hyundai’s Genesis sedan with praise before having a chance at a steer, the South Korean journalist in this YouTube video is laboring under no such restraints.

There are those who would criticize the Audi RS4 Cabriolet, saying the big V-8 engine in its nose only amplifies the understeering tendencies of its Quattro all-wheel-drive system; that it costs a truckload of cash; and that a cloth top couldn’t be as good as a folding metal roof—like most convertibles du jour. To which the only reply can be: fie, pish, and pshaw!

One comment that got tossed around during this test at the Paul Ricard circuit in southern France is that as impressive as this car is, the twin-turbo 5.0-liter V-10-powered second-generation Audi RS6 is perhaps the last of the heavyweights in the well-chronicled German horsepower wars.
