We’ve just be handed what appear to be the first ever photographs of the next generation BMW 3-Series, albeit in heavily camouflaged form.
Hardly able to hide from our shooter’s lens while riding on the back of a transporter, the new 3 seems to be following suite with the recently revised 7-Series and Z4 by showing much simpler, cleaner body surfacing, and tidied up lines. We won’t be able to say for certain until at least some of the cladding is removed, but this seems to be somewhat of a return to the crisp, straight-edged 3-Series we last saw in the E46 sedan.
Front and rear fascias, lighting, and mirrors all appear to be revised on this new car, though the full-length ambers on the side-view mirrors seem likely to be revised before the production version hits.
We’ll keep you posted about new 3-Series developments as we know them (including any word from our spy photographer about further details). Until then, take a close look at our gallery of images above, and let us know what you think about the updated 3er in comments, below.
