Yesterday, we reported on spy shots of what might be BMW’s efficient sports car concept popping up on the Internet. This morning, our very diligent spy photographer sent us a gallery of our own to post.

Buick introduced its Business MPV concept at the Shanghai Auto Show yesterday. Developed in China, the Business MPV is a collaboration between General Motors and Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation, and features GM’s next-generation hybrid system.

The Business MPV brings business class to the road in a vehicle geared toward workaholics. The power central console, which can move up and down between the second and third rows, features a deployable tablet for writing or holding a laptop computer. The second row seats swivel 225 degrees, making it easier for passengers to hold meetings within the vehicle.

Mercedes, which plans on displaying a natural gas-powered B-Class at the Washington Auto Show, has said it is interested in testing the U.S. market for the possible sale of a vehicle fueled by compressed natural gas. The clean burning fuel has been largely passed over by the American market as an alternative to gasoline-powered vehicles, with many automakers choosing to focus on hybrid vehicles instead.

Proponents of natural gas cite its availability, affordability, and environmental friendliness when urging the automotive industry to explore its energy options.

The Mercedes-Benz B-Class, which is sold in Europe, is an entry-level compact hatchback. Mercedes already sells a version of the B-Class that can run on gasoline or natural gas.

This afternoon, Fisker, the maker of the Karma plug-in hybrid, dropped
the veil, then dropped the top, on its new concept hardtop convertible,
the Karma S, also known as the Sunset. The Sunset features a
Fisker-exclusive lithium-ion battery, two electric motors, a sleek body
style, and a plush interior.

Although the Karma-S concept greatly resembles the production model
Karma, the crowd seemed pleased at the unveiling, but the champagne and
chocolate-covered strawberries may have had a hand in that.

Today, on the manufacturer’s twentieth anniversary, Lexus introduced its 2010 HS250h, a hybrid sedan that will go on sale late this summer. With a body style somewhere between the IS and the ES, the HS is Lexus’ first dedicated hybrid vehicle.

Besides being better for the environment, Lexus continues to provide a vehicle meant for comfort and ease of use. Along with the HS’s hybrid technology, use of ecoplastics and recyclable materials, and exhaust heat recovery system, Mark Templin, Lexus Group Vice President and General Manager, highlighted some of the vehicle’s bells and whistles. The HS250h features a 190-degree front monitor, a Pre-Collision alert system, XM navigation, and an ultra-bright heads-up display. Templin also emphasized the Lexus Enfom technology, which allows users to send information to the car’s navigation system via the Internet.

Also in attendance at the unveiling was Chief Engineer Hiroyuki Koba.

Ford has unveiled the Chinese version of the Fiesta hatchback in Beijing, a five-door hatch trimmed out for Auto China as the Fiesta S.

The debut of the GLK, the first compact SUV produced by Mercedes-Benz, marks the automaker’s first world premiere in China.

Ford is attempting to leverage its long and prolific history in the taxi industry, with a cab concept based on its versatile Transit Connect commercial hauler.
