P.J. O'Rourke is funny. He's also very smart. Best of all, he cares about cars and how they make people feel.

The former National Lampoon editor was the son of a Toledo Buick dealer, and has written for Car & Driver and Automobile (both under David E. Davis). I'm sure he's written for other car mags, and countless other magazines, including Rolling Stone.

Anyway, I always laugh when I read P.J. O'Rourke, and I look forward to this.

I was reading "Add One to the List" in WR Issue 46, and was a bit dissappointed.

First, the story lacked attribution. Who wrote it?

As I read along, it used the term "whisky". It's in the dictionary, but it's a variant of the real word, "whiskey".

Then, I read "they also put the brakes through the ringer." That is simply wrong. The word is wringer. It derives from wringing the water out of laundry. Your telephone has a ringer. DED would not be happy.

What people seem to have forgotten is that competition is what capitalism is all about. Evrey failure shifted purchases to the survivors, rewarding them for producing what the market wanted. That's how you get better products.

Renault and Ferrari are threatening to withdraw from the 2010 F1 season, if the FIA proceeds with their two-tier rules. To attract new teams, the FIA wants teams operating within a budget cap of $60 million to be free of technical restrictions.

F1 without Ferrari is hard to imagine.

The rationale, is to avoid accidents, but when I read that the system alerts you to slow down, I have to wonder how long it will be until the system automatically slows your car down.
