We can see that the windows are plastic, modified vody work, and some impressive brembo racing brakes. the car is expected to use the rumored  naturally-aspirated 4.5L VK45DE V8 engine instead of the  twin-turbo 3.8L V6 that come from the stock version.

Mercedes’ upcoming CLK has been caught while prowling the streets of Stuttgart. A 2009 release is planned.

The CLK will continue to ride on a C-class platform, and is expected to become more sporty, but also more luxurious, when the C 206 iteration launches. Front end changes, like four "eyes," are expected to keep the appearance of the CLK different from that of the C-class. In our April issue, we commissioned our automotive computer rendering guru Poblete to work up some tasty "What If" Pontiac Firebird impressions based upon General Motors’ forthcoming Zeta-platform 2009 Camaro. The capable artist even went so far as to include a subtle homage to Burt Reynolds, he of Smokey and the Bandit fame.

According to spy shooter Hans Lehmann, the snapper who provided us with these unorthodox spy shots, this morbid hunk of a test car is actually an Audi RS8. We’ll leave the brief telling of this sob story to Hans:

We’ve just come away with these exclusive shots of spy photographer extraordinaire, Brenda Priddy, caught testing indulging our editors' odd sense of humor here at the Javits Media Center in New York. Captured displaying a bare minimum of camouflage (and a newly obtained WINDING ROAD pin), Ms. Priddy was observed engaging in a bit of cold-weather testing (hey, it’s 40 degrees and raining here, and the media center appears to be completely unheated).

Despite the adverse conditions, she put in a good performance, and for that... we're thankful.

Our spy shooter friends at KGP Photography captured Maserati's new GranTurismo live and in the metal today in Germany. The coupe, almost completely devoid of any camouflage, was headed to testing on the Nürburgring. Only a small amount of tape, blacked-out wheels, and a Robert Plant stunt double throw the dogs off the from the truth. Rightfully so, Maserati is putting in hard work on its new baby.
