My first North American car was a 1954 Pontiac, which was almost identical to the 1953 Chev

True, the car is a 1953 but the film would have been made in 1952 hence it is called a 1952 Chevrolet promotional film!!

Thumbs up for this nostalgic footage. As a youngster I well-remember seeing the Dinah Shore performances on her weekly show for Chevy and hearing "See the USA..." Those were simpler times but the trade-show type of footage holds up well.

Simpler times and better times...if, of course, one was white and especially male. Nonetheless, these innocent and overly sincere promos make me so nostalgic and such marketing could easily work well today. Great memories before anyone even dreamed of the internet and how it might stress out our lives.

It wasn't uncommon back in those days to have poor chrome. I have a 52 that's been in the family since 1962 and was told it had something to do with the chrome and the copper being so expensive due to the high demand by the the military. As I recall, this wasn't unique to GM products.
